A smiling woman holding a yellow cloth nappy with stripes, with shelves of nappies behind her

Hello!
My name is Heather and I am the founder of Cubkind. I studied illustration at university, then went on to become a primary school teacher. When I had my daughter in 2021, my husband and I discussed trying cloth nappies. At the time, we decided we would buy a few and try them out, with no pressure to continue if they were not for us. We began using them just at home, but soon realised they were just as easy to use on days out as well. It was a while before we got the hang of nighttime, but our daughter used to leak even through disposables at night so I thought that I might as well give cloth night nappies a go - if she was leaking anyway, there was nothing to lose! Pretty soon, we were using cloth full time and loving it!
I decided to start Cubkind because, after doing my own research and talking to a few mum friends, I realised how daunting and unapproachable the cloth nappy world can be. There are so many types, acronyms and different fabrics to learn, and for a beginner, it can be difficult to know where to start. Cubkind's mission is to make cloth nappies simple and accessible. We do this by focusing on one nappy type (pockets), which are customisable to work for different babies, and by colour coding our inserts and boosters, making it very clear to anyone how to stuff the nappy. I design all of the prints myself, taking inspiration from my daughter and her favourite things, so each print is completely unique to us.
